How to Reach Us
GermanStates.com is an independent travel publication focused on Germany's 16 federal states. The fastest way to reach the editorial team is by email. We monitor the inbox during European business hours and aim to reply to substantive messages within a few working days.
Please include the page URL you are writing about and a clear subject line. Plain-text emails work best — we cannot open compressed archives or unusual attachments.
What to Write About
We particularly welcome the following kinds of message:
- Corrections. If a date, name, transport detail, or historical claim looks wrong, tell us where and what the correct version is. Sources help.
- Suggestions. An attraction, neighbourhood, regional dish, or hidden gem you think a state guide should cover.
- Editorial feedback. Sections that read poorly, navigation that confused you, mobile rendering issues.
- Accessibility issues. If a page is hard to use with assistive technology, we want to fix it.
- Privacy or data requests. Use the same address; see the Privacy Policy for the rights available to you.
What We Cannot Help With
To set expectations honestly:
- We are not a booking agency and cannot reserve hotels, trains, tours, or restaurants on your behalf.
- We do not provide individual itinerary planning, immigration advice, or visa support.
- We do not publish guest posts, sponsored articles, or paid backlinks. Outreach of this kind will not receive a reply.
- We cannot answer time-sensitive logistical questions (closures, train cancellations, weather). For those, the Deutsche Bahn website, the relevant state tourism board, and Germany's national meteorological service are far better placed than we are.
Press, Permissions, and Linking
You are welcome to link to any page on GermanStates.com without asking. For longer quotations or reuse of substantial passages, please request permission first using the email above and include the intended context. We are happy to discuss reasonable, attributed reuse.
Response Times
We are a small editorial operation, not a customer-service desk. Most emails get a reply, but volume varies and the inbox is not staffed on weekends or German public holidays. If your message is urgent and time-bound, please say so in the subject line.
If you have written more than once and have not heard back after two weeks, it is reasonable to follow up — occasionally a message gets caught in spam filtering.
Other Resources
For practical travel logistics that fall outside the scope of these guides, the following sources are usually more helpful than emailing us:
- Deutsche Bahn (bahn.com) — train schedules, regional tickets, the Deutschlandticket.
- Germany.travel — the official tourism portal of the German National Tourist Board.
- Each state's tourism board — linked indirectly from many of our state guides via well-known landmark names.
